I have a great Idea for PAX that allows us to get involved in community service / science while playing a puzzle video game!
Go check out the game foldit! www.fold.it
In the game you arrange proteins to be in their most natural positions. You get more points by arranging the proteins in better positions.
I say we make a PAX group and starting help out the world while also having fun! Just recently members of this game have created new synthetic proteins and have mapped out dangerous proteins that cause death in humans that have never been mapped out before!
Here is a link to show the awesomeness!

This is exciting as it gets people... lets do this!

That actually sounds really, really cool! I'm curious as to what the "game" actually looks like, and how people with no clue about biology or DNA can do anything with it. I can't find any screenshots anywhere, do you have any?

Screen shots are on the first page of www.fold.it
They are actually the squiggly lines! The game explains how things work in a really simplistic manner. You just have to think of it as a complex jigsaw puzzle where certain parts need to be facing certain ways while also not being to close or to far away from each other

I will be setting up a group for this as I learn more. You should download it and give it a whirl.
And you know whats awesome? We can have group competitions on this game!!! This game keeps track of all of our scores and then ranks them against everyone in our group :D

Oh! This is the thing I heard on the news; gamers put it together and found the Anti-Aids strain that they put into cats! Side effect included glowing in the dark though >.> But very cool!
