Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Honorable mentioned s would be Uncharted 2, and Elder Scrolls IV being that it's my top favorite game of all time and because of the massive amount of story content it has.

I think, perhaps, some of the best plots I've seen are in Command and Conquer. Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath, Renegade, Red Alert... they all pull at your mind with an intense curiosity. That, and the live action cutscenes really pull you into it.
We're also forgetting the first Fable. That game was good for hours and hours and hours of playing and re-playing. DON'T DO IT, JACK!

Metal Gear Games, Warcraft 3, Starcraft 1 & 2, Final Fantasy 7,Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Portal and Half life games!
I have to say I am addicted to a good first person shooter story line then anything else. Probably because it feels like you are actually the person, rather then playing as someone else. I beat both Portal 1 and 2 in one nights sitting because I couldn't stop playing!
Edit: Forgot to say how much I loved the original Tie Fighter series. If you haven't played it, I wouldn't consider yourself a true Star Wars game fan :P

I really liked the Mass Effect stories, it's the only one I've actually been able to sit down and beat really quick cause it was so interesting.

Modern Warfare games have really awesome story lines in my opinion, but the multiplayer gets repetitive to me though.

gonna have to go with the xenosaga trilogy on that one. best story in a game ive ever played. chrono trigger a close 2nd tho.
