Tips on Skyrim.
Fix common crash to desktop problem
Access the Sound menu from the Control panel. In the playback tab, right click on speakers and select properties. Select the advanced tab on the new screen and select 24 bit, 44100Hz (Studio Quality) from the drop down menu. This fixed crashes for Owen last night.
Press the Tilde Key to open the console and Type FOV 75 or higher to change the FOV to the pc viewpoint as it's at a console fov of 60-65 then Save Game
(To open the console press the button to the left of number 1 on your keyboard, press it again to close)
Skyrim.ini in the \Users\[Username]\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim directory
[Display]
bAllowScreenshot=1
iPresentInterval=0 (0 Vsync Off Or 1 for vsync on)
For improved graphics change
bTreesReceiveShadows=0
to
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
and change
bDrawLandShadows=0
to
bDrawLandShadows=1
(this makes tree's draw shadows onto other trees).

I can't play using wsaf key's for movement due to injury's in the marines to my left wrist. Instead I use edsf. If you attempt to rebind the keys in game, it screws a lot of things up.
Rebinding favorites from F to something else for instance will not work. Not only can you not create favorites in the inventory menu, you can not switch to favorites saved during gameplay.
There are several other keybind bugs that aggravate me, but this is the most glaring one. The other very aggravating bug I have found is; game minimizes it's self randomly during game play and won't let me bring the screen back up. I have to pull up the task manager and remove the process and restart the game. Loosing any unsaved progress.

I have to agree, the controls are terrible for the PC.
It was clearly designed with console controllers in mind, with no thought of using keyboard.
Hotkey for potions.., nope...
Hotkey to swap weapons... nope...

Today I played 1st time Skyrim :D
Well... I had deja vu, when game started from awaking as prisoner... Like Morrowind :D
And then... I stuck in tutorial! Dragon approached, so I run to the tower... I get to hole, jumped into burning inn..... And missed it, and land into starting point, next to blocked from inside tower! LOL. I tried everything, including climbing by fallen tree.... Nothing can bring me into roof of burning house.... :D So I must begin game again during tutorial :D

Notched items where in Morwind and Oblivion to by the way.
And to ask did any one run into a crash problem when a dragon died? I go to Riften, and this dragon appears, so I kill it and game crashes. I tried Markos sound thing, I ran as admin.

My Steam account says that I have now played Skyrim for 18 hours - I'm only level 10 and barely scratched the surface of this game. I love it (bugs and all)!
One thing that I have found somewhat disappointing about the game is that it seems that most of the books that I have found and read so far seem to be the same as ones used in Oblivion (were the ones in Oblivion originally found in Morrowind?).

This is driving me crazy. All of my friends from work are playing this game and the more they talk about it, the more I want to buy it. I just have to remind myself that I neither have the time nor money. I will eventually buy it when it goes on sale on Steam. Hopefully during the December holiday sale. Granted it won't be on sale for all that much off. Another option is that I will eventually buy a used Xbox 360 copy from Gamestop.
....Must..stop...thinking...about....Skyrim!
