re: Anyone interested in trying out a new MMO for a game night?

Was thinking it would be fun to try out a new free to play mmo for a game night some night. Doing so would require those that want to participate to download the game ahead of time and have all of their controls & settings set up before hand. That way we are not waiting for someone for an hour while they set things up.
Was thinking about APB or Vindictus. But I'm open to other suggestions people might have.

We've tried playing some free MMORPGs together before Some still do play the ones we used to play a while ago XD like LOTRO, Fiesta and Forsaken World. I'm sure there are a few others too
I'm always up for trying out a new MMORPG ^^

That would be nice, the more variety there is the better I'd say.

I'm not too fond for superheroes, but DCO is too tempting.
Recently Vindictus had problems with many people from both East and West servers not being able to log in for days, not sure if it's fixed. I hope it is..

I played dcuo for about 2 months. The game is fun, no doubt about that. But the "free to play" portion is kind of limited. We would have to level up a little bit to do anything that is really group oriented. But it's definitely an option.
I suggested APB because when I played it in the past, it was the most fun I've ever had in a MMO to date. Driving around the city guns blazing, laughing my but off in vent, and just having a good time. One big problem with APB though is that if you don't have a group the game is horrid.
I've never played vindictus at all.. I really know very little about the game to be honest. At this point I am just tossing out game ideas to see what people might like to try.

That I agree, APB gives tons of funny and random moments, tried that a few months ago and it was awesome.

Yep not a chance in hell I would play it without a guild group though.

I might join you for a game or two in dcuo or apb some morning. I don't really see you guys on game nights much as it's like 4-6 am for you guys.

I've never played DC Universe. Might give it a try since it's free.

I played DCUO for like 5 months or so. Its very fun for awhile but gets old eventually. PvP is lots of fun tho. You can do something called Legends PvP where you play as the iconic super heroes in instanced pvp zones with different objectives. Good thing is you can do this from a low level. Not that leveling is hard... 30 level cap. Takes about 10 hours.

I've leveled to 5 so far in DCUO, and I can't say that I love it yet. I haven't grouped or done any major quest yet, and it's possible that I hate my character and therefor am not enjoying the game. I'll try a different playstyle and see if that does it for me.

This is a great idea in theory, in practice, however, I think everyone is just staring at that light at the end of the tunnel.
Keep up the enthusiasm for MMOs; it won't be long now!
