What Race are you rolling {Troopers Only}

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I was reading through it and had a question: Do we know if there will be any advantages to any races? When I played the Beta, it gave a brief description of each race, and why to choose them, but it didn't seem like it was any gameplay mechanic, just a nifty description of why their race is cool. Any new info on this?

There won't be any gameplay mechanic difference but each race has its own social abilities (copied from betacake):

Human

Rally – Rallies nearby allies.

Miraluka

Sense Force Alignment – Senses the target’s alignment with the Force.

Twi’lek

Parlor dance – Perform an unique cultural dance.

Zabrak

Inspire loyalty – Inspires loyalty from nearby allies.

Mirialan

Focusing Ritual – Undergo a focusing ritual to rest and recuperate spirit.

Cyborg

Scan target – Scans target with a critical cybernetic eye.

Sith

Punish – Punish your companion for his or continued failures.

Rattataki

Shadowbox – Perform a series of mock blows, blocks and counters, warming up for the fight to come.

Chiss

Salute – Prompts nearby allies to stand at attention.

Yeah, Zoron is correct, there's nothing critical, only social "abilities' which are more like emotes, to me, but look kinda cool nonetheless, or appearance differences.

It's probably better that way, racial abilities are just one more thing to have to balance and hear complaints over...I just wish they would've added more races knowing that they had no abilities to grapple with. Here's hoping the first expansion doubles our racial options.

I heard that Cyborg is no longer or is going to be not just a race but an option for all races or something like that.

Why does the Empire get all the cool stuff? I wanna shadow box or make people pop to attention when I want them to.
