The application submitted by Ev'line is as follows:

Quote:
***Please look over this >>>> thread <<<< before starting your application.*** Before we get started, did you read the "How to Join PR thread" (linked above), and do you understand our application/Trial system? (It is mandatory to do so to be accepted!): Yes Age?: 45 Gender: Male Where are you from?: Toronto, Canada What is your main character's in-game name?: Decibelle Which is the AC for your main character?: Vanguard What level is your main character at this time?: 60 What interests and activities do you enjoy spending your time on both in and out of game?: Playing and teaching music, my hobby farm/animals, socializing with old friends, reading, SW:TOR and art.

In game, I love PvP and playing the class stories. Flashpoints are a hoot as well. How did you hear about Pax Republica?: Solo warzones when I had the good fortune of being grouped with 7 Pax Republica members. What was it about Pax Republica that encouraged you to sign up with us, rather than with another guild?: The way they worked as a team while playing with them in warzones. They were interested in the objectives of the map instead of free-for-all mayhem, all while including an outsider (me) in ops chat. They were also being light hearted and non-elitist. Very refreshing indeed. Do you consider yourself a hardcore player, casual player, or somewhere in-between?: Casual Are you currently a member of any SWTOR Republic guild? You can not join us if you're in another Republic guild.: No Have you ever been kicked from a guild for poor conduct, unruly behavior, or inactivity?: No Which of the following interests you most?: PvP Which of the following interests you second most?: Story Which of the following interests you third most?: Exploring When you've been in a guild a long time, do you usually stay a regular member, or do you end up in/aspire to be in a leadership position?: Leadership Position The following questions are to provide you with a quick insight regarding the trial requirements. Do you acknowledge that activity is key to our community and that failure to contribute to the community(every week unless on leave of absence) could result in possible removal from the guild?: Yes Do you promise to act with maturity, friendliness and courtesy towards all Pax Republica Members... and other SWTOR players?: Yes Do you acknowledge that you must complete all the trial requirements given to you by the Pax Republica Officers to become a full member?: Yes True or False: You will re-visit the forums often over the next two weeks as you go through the Trials.: True Is there anything else you would like to include as to why we should accept you as an applicant to Pax Republica?: I can guarantee that I'll be the best that I can be and act in a mature, respectful fashion (sprinkled with light hearted humour of course). I'm dedicated and loyal to teams that I'm a part of and will do everything in my power to ensure the guilds goals are met. I also have no problem offering help or knowledge to others if it will benefit their individual goals and the goals of the guild. Are there any questions about the guild you would like answered?: Not at this time, thanks. Once again to ensure you know how things work: "I read the "How to Join PR thread" (linked above), and I understand Pax's application/Trial system, activity rules, etc.": True

Awesome, Decibelle, thanks for putting in the application!

For those that don't remember, Decibelle was in one of our 7-man Pax queues, and at the end of winning a warzone with him in it, I half-jokingly was like "Want to join Pax? ;)"  We invited him into the guild and told him to come apply.  He has done so :)     In light of the fact that he's already been in the guild and shown that he's a good person, and he actually came to the website to apply, all I want to see is that Decibelle returns to answer questions, and then we'll start the trials.

Decibelle, what's your favorite warzone?

Alderaan Civil War, The Voidstar, Novare Coast and The Ancient Hypergate. I especially like The Voidstar and Novare Coast.

I'm not very good at Huttball, but I try my best while I'm in them. It doesn't help that my system lags horribly on those maps (regardless of settings).

The arenas are OK too.

Regardless of the warzone, I stick with it from beginning to end. There is something to be learned from getting a thorough beating.

re: Congrats to our returning peacekeeper! Ev'line

Awesome man, thanks for responding!  I hope more people ask you questions!

Welcome to your trial process for Pax Republica! Let's get started:

During this welcoming period you will have 14 days to complete some tasks that will acclimate you into the guild and help you decide if we are the right guild for you!

Then, there will be three days for guild members to vote on whether or not they believe you should be allowed to join.  Virtually no one gets voted no... usually by then someone that doesn't fit in has already been asked to end their trials.

(If you need your Trial to be extended a couple of days due to a trip, or a serious emergency, etc., please contact an Admin and be sure to let them know when you'll be back.)

If you have any questions during any phase of your trials, a lot of helpful information can be found HERE.

Please post in your thread whenever you complete a task.

Here are your tasks:

Complete √ 1. Update your profile here at Pax Republica with a forum Avatar. ***NOTE***- Your avatar cannot be one of the generic default avatars that GuildLaunch gives you. It should be something unique so that it's easier to associate your name with some kind of image, this allows us to get to know you better.

Complete √ 2. Make an introductory post in your specified class forum provided below. Please use it as a chance to introduce yourself to the family, as this is a more permanent area for people to get to know you (your own "personal area" on the forums, if you will) than your application thread.

Trooper Barracks - Smuggler Cantina - Consular Library - Knight Praxeum

Complete √ 3. Either your Guild Launch user name should be your "main" character name in SWTOR, or you should link your main character to your GL account. Here's how to do the latter:

  •  Go to User Profile (Your name) at the top right of the forums.
  •  Under Characters tab, go to Add Character, make sure you choose ToR for your game and The Galactic Republic as your faction. Create the name as your main character's name in SWTOR!
  •  Now that your character has been created, go to the Sites tab under User Profile.
  •  Under Forum Posting As Settings select your character and click Set Character to Post As.
  •  Finished!

Complete √ 4. Go over our Charter (our Rules and Regulations document) and be sure to post that you accept it. Please read it carefully BEFORE accepting. Click here.

Complete √ 5. Log on to SWTOR and whisper anyone of rank Justicar or above with your in-game name so we can add you to the guild. For a list of our rank structure and names of officers, please Click here.

Complete √ 6. Arrange and interview with an officer. The interview with be conducted in Teamspeak. The interview gives you the chance to meet with an officer and ask any questions you may have regarding your membership in the guild, and they will take the opportunity to get to know you better.

For a complete list of officers you can approach for an interview, Click here. It is YOUR responsibility to post in your trials thread that you need an interview and to let officers know what your schedule is so that they can offer to help you... or you can PM an officer to schedule your interview before Phase 1 is over. Please don't leave this until the last minute.

7. Group with Pax Republica members to complete 3 guild "missions". You must be in Teamspeak during these missions. A single mission is either:

  1. Two GSF battles
  2. One Flashpoints
  3. Two Warzones
  4. Half a PvE Raid (In other words, one raid attendance counts as two of these "missions")
  5. 30-45minutes of any other in-game activity (questing, etc.)

(Note: It is up to you to post here the different "missions" you completed and who was in the group(s).) The point of this step is to get in groups with Pax members to get to know them, and for them to get to know you!

► Voting Phase

8. Members will have 3 days to vote on whether you have passed or failed as a member, so sit back and relax!

While you wait to pass your trials, you should check out the entire forums if you haven't already.  If you're a raider, be sure to read all the PvE forums - raiding guidelines, DPS parses, etc.  You should post in the PvE forums a thread saying you're interested in raiding with your time availability, current gear level, class, talent spec, how many datacrons you've collected, if you have companion bonuses, etc. Same thing with PvP or GSF... post in those forums with similar information if you're interested!

This is also a time you can ask around about how to join our Pax Republica Facebook Group and our Pax Republica GroupMe Channels.

Good luck!

Hello Decibelle or Ev'line as the case may be  ;)

I see you really like PvP, we have some folks that love that as well, especially now that 3.3 is here. Have you ever done ranked PvP before? How about GSF?

Let's say you just finished the best PvP match you have ever had in SWTOR, one so good it makes you wanna finally open that bottle of bourbon you have been saving. Describe for us some of the events that would have happened in that match to make you feel that way.

:)

Welcome to Pax Republica!

Hi Iolo'pax!

No, I haven't tried Ranked Warzones or GSF... yet. Honestly, I just started PvPing a few months ago. But I do intend to try both in the relatively near future.

In regards to the best match, the events that transpired would be...

  • I was observant enough to communicate in a timely fashion that a node I was responsible for was pending an attack and I survived long enough to see reinforcements arrive without losing the node.
  • I responded to another's call for help at a node quickly and helped them defend it.
  • We came back to win the Alderaan Civil War, Hypergate or Novar Coast by an incredibly tight margin against an Empire premade (rolling through or getting rolled is never as much fun)
  • My heart rate wasn't high enough to potentially cause cardiac arrest
  • My wife offered to make me a sammich if we won the match, and lo and behold, it appears just as promised!

Not lofty goals, but they satisfy me.

re: Congrats to our returning peacekeeper! Ev'line

NICE! .. I know what ya mean about the heart rate.... some of the Matches I have been in have come down to the wire, and I feel those are the best! (With getting revenge on a Empire guild coming a close second hehe).

It is good to hear you like responding to node calls too. IMO there has been a sharp increase lately in the number of players in pugs that completely ignore the pylons all together. I have be in no less that 6 matches  in the past week where nobody from the team went to the node, even from the start. When I did, I would call incs and needles to say, i was on my own.

Pax PvP will spoil you (at least it did to me). We have some damn good PvP players. We still lose our fair share of WZ's, but our communication and responses for help are usually not our weakpoint. It would be interesting to see our stats if would could get all of our spouses/SO's onboard with a PvP Sandwich reward program. We might go unbeaten!! ;)

I look forward to seeing ya online!

Just touching base... I believe I completed 2, 3, 4, 5 and 1 mission of 7. I was grouped via group finder with Giggity for 2 warzones. Aftwards, we hooked up with Kelrun (?!) for another warzone. Unfortunately, we only won 1 out of the 3 but they were all close against Imp premades (Brutality mostly).

Giggity is a monster of a Vigilance Guardian and Kelrun picks his targets with precision!

sounds like you just need an interview... and you need to do step 3 still!   You say you did #3, but make sure you follow the directions carefully.  I should be able to see Decibelle under/above your name on the forums.

I think it is working now, Nwahs. When I did it initially, applying Decibelle to the guild didn't stick (ooops).

Got ya, yes that looks good.  Now you just need an interview!

Best way:  get on Teamspeak often, especially between 5pm and midnight eastern time, if you can.  Look for an officer (list of officers can be found in the About Us area of the forums if you don't know them... in game they are Arbiter rank) and ask them for an interview :)  You can also PM one to set up a time if that works better.

re: Congrats to our returning peacekeeper! Ev'line

Thanks for the tip, Nwahs.

I should be online tonight and Wednesday, July 29th between 5 PM and 7 PM EDT. If any officers are around then, I'd love to chat with you.

Note that I'm heading out on a business trip this Friday and returning late night on August 3rd. I hope to be back online (ingame and on TS) on the evening of the 4th. I'll do my best to monitor the forums while I'm away.

Out of curiosity, does the Tatooine Bobsled Team still exist?
