Welcome Evrenat! My Name is Ian, from suburbs of Chicago, and I do IT support as my career. There are quite a few military veterans in our group (alas I am not). Outside the game I enjoy playing Hockey (I don't suppose you are a Wild fan?) and bicycling.
I hope you didn't mind us asking you questions, it's not that we are a nosy sort, it just helps us to break the ice and help to let our personalities shine a little bit out of our shell. Talking about past MMO's, what characters we like and why, and stuff is real life helps us identify things in common so everyone isn't just a stranger. I say this as a generalization, but I think the consensus is that players whose primary purpose for joining a guild is to only go after 'shiny stuff' (as Nwahs would say) don't tend to enjoy what we offer as much and usually don't mix well with us.
As an illustration, two of the non-raiding events we have on the radar is an open world PvP event on Alderaan (this weekend actually), and a seek and capture/escort pvp planet crawl. Neither of which is going to net someone that decoration or elusive 208 main-hand we all want. Someone after 'shiny stuff' would see those events as a waste of time, and likely wouldn't want to participate. (and we enjoy participation hehe). I hope you understand we want you to wanna like us as much we wanna like you. (Grammar aside)
