re: Warning: Irony Incoming... my computer caught fire

Everypony's favorite firefighter was playing SWTOR with Brandon-Jinn and Wylan when his computer couldn't charge anymore. When said firefighter went to inspect, he noticed a smell of electrical fire, and then saw (get this) an electrical fire.
So now I'm on a new laptop and downloading SWTOR. I'll be out of game for a couple of days while it downloads, and I have to figure out how to clone my HDD to my SSD in a computer with only 1 hard drive connection and an inability to buy a SATA to USB connection.
I shall overcome! ...but if anyone has any tips on what I can do to clone my hard drive. I'd like to have this computer running on my SSD but I don't know if I can clone it without a dual hard drive bay or an external connection.

Oh the irony!
But that sux man! I dont know how often you read my recruit-thread, but my laptop also caught fire. Well atleast it melted. Took me 6 hours to download swtor in my parents home with a stable connection (not a great connection though, sub 2 mb/s), so i can imagine it taking longer in your location
Hope ur back sooner than later, because right now Im waiting for you every morning.

Oh and if you wanna avoid your new computer gettin the same problem; dont keep the charger in when you have the computer on your lap, because thats what causing it. I know, I have gone through 3 computers and 7 repairs on that issue (Including a work computer, so I didnt have to pay for the repairs haha).

I can, I just need to find someone in Iraq who has one. Question though, once I do find one, do I proceed just as if the hard drive was hard mounted into the computer? does the cloning process change if an HDD is externally mounted via SATA to USB cable?

The rules of cloning is:
You can only clone a drive to a drive of equal or larger size. Atleast thats what the guy who tried to clone my computer once said after I changed to a SSD and he couldnt manage to clone it, even though the data on it was less than the size of my new drive.
If not, this is gonna take alot of googling for me. I am also wondering if I should upgrade a drive you see
Glad that you survived though

So I bought the top of the line computer for sale on base, and FINALLY got SWTOR installed and it's just pathetic. It's an integrated AMD HD4200 graphics card which, once I looked into it, was a bad graphics card 3 years ago. Come to find out, it's the same on Huvey had while his gaming computer was being worked on and he could only run around the fleet with it and not useful at all in PvP or PvE, and it looks as though I'm in the same boat.
I can't get a new computer in because we can't recieve mail and due to all the craziness in Baghdad, the locals are not allowed on base so it looks like I'll be stuck with this for awhile.
I'll still be in-game and on TS to hang out with you guys, so I wont take an LOA, but my ability to kill Imps has greatly diminished. I'm hoping to get another R&R in August so I can get a new proper gaming computer then. Until that time, I shall craft ALL THE THINGS!
