List based humor is the best! I love cracked, great network of writers and for writers. More than a few of tomorrow's comedians are on their boards everyday, it's an awesome creative experience. ...also they love batman too.

What was his excuse for such fail launch of SINGLE PLAYER game, with option to co-op?

I have to admit that it's annoying. At least SC2 had an "offline" option, so you could play w/o an active internet connection. And while the drop-in, drop-out system can be good if your game crashes, it gets annoying when a random friend drops in, skips all dialogue and cutscenes, and runs ahead like an idiot. Which happened in my first run-through of Act 1. Going through with the friend I planned to, another friend dropping in about halfway through and skipped everything possible until the end of the Act, when servers went down. Again.
Blizzard seems to be the only "real" company moving this way - a lot of modern games stick to the "Keep single and multi player separate" philosophy. I mean, look at Mass Effect 3 - MP had no effect on SP. You could ignore one or the other and be fine. Diablo 3? Nope, you're always online. SC2 was a nice balance - campaign was SP but online, so you could talk to people, and the separate MP section. And it had an option for offline, at least, before you logged in.
The D3 system should have been like D2's - SP with one char, MP with a different. Not linked, not shared, nothing. You make your Battle.net char, have fun with friends or solo, and go to SP if you want to ignore everybody. Or use LAN games to connect with friends only, no chance of random strangers, even in PW'd games.

I think the only reason they did it that way is against piracy.
Look at SC2, it was online for download the day the game came out.
So, if that is the reason, then I understand, otherwise it is just stupid.
Luckily I never added any friends to my Battle-net account, so I am safe
Bak.

yeah I'm pretty sure that's the reason why do this, but let's face it: if a company by default thinks I'm a criminal they can shove it.
not forgetting to mention people will always find a way to get things 'for free'. sure enough soon people will have the game 'ready' to be played on private servers Blizzard never knowing they have the game to begin with.
