Bubbles wants to draw!

Hey guys! We have a lot of great artists in the guild and I've felt kind of inspired lately. Especially with all the RP stories I've been writing, it's made me want to draw Togruta. So, I went to the store and spent $10 on a pack of crayons! I thought I'd share with you what I have so far, I'm open to criticism, because honestly, I have no clue what I'm doing, I just know I'm having fun

*Oh, it's important to note that I trace all the outlines and I wouldn't be able to do any of this without a model, even though I sometimes add a few things all by myself. But I figured, the more I do this, the less of a crutch I'll need, if I'm lucky. And if not, it passes the time 'til release!

I used pictures of random people that I thought had nice, similar features and not too complicated poses. I would love to make one with my face if I find a picture of me that I like.

One little trick I do with my drawings is measure up the proportions of the picture (head is 1/3 size of torso for example) that kind of thing).

If you are basing the work off a photograph or another picture you can measure the exact ratios - then freehand draw the outlines with a couple of guide dots for height & width.

That's a very good idea. I've been thinking about getting graph paper, I think it's what it's called? The one with all the little squares everywhere. That way, I wouldn't trace anything, but I'd have a very firm guide. Next time I'm at the store, I'm gonna do it!

Yup,

When starting a couple of dots to signify where the eyes are, top of head, the middle of the hips, elbows, knees & feet go a long way to improving proportions (not that yours a bad, just it makes life easier).
