So lately I've been wanting to do a bit more reading. So I thought this thread would be a good place to exchange book reading ideas with fellow paxians.
Personally I really loved, World War Z. Just an incredible book and the stories in it were just believable. It really pulled me into the story about how the world got taken over by Zombies. Just an awesome book.
I also liked. Reality is Broken: Why Games Make us Better and How They Can Change The World.
Long title I know. Anyway, It's a great read for any gaming enthusiasts and maybe good for those who want to understand the appeal of gaming with out having to play. I found myself feeling really good about playing games afterwards and you might too.
Anyway leave behind any suggestions you might have and why you think other would want to read it.

I know I've said it before, but "Game of Thrones" and the rest of the Song of Ice and Fire series is a great read.

"If Chins Could Kill", Bruce Campbell's autobiography. Who knew he was such a thoughtful guy?
I haven't yet read his follow-up, "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way", but that's likely my next purchase.

Life of Pi, by Yann Martel : I'd say it's more of a philosophical/spiritual book, but the story is wonderful. It's about a little boy stranded at sea with a bengal tiger after a shipwreck.

Unfortunately, you didn't give much direction on type of book or genre really.
My picks would be:
Wheel of Time anthology - Robert Jordan (last few books are being written by Brian Sanderson since Jordan's passing) - My favorite series, but some have a hard time with their length.
Don't Eat This Book - Morgan Spurlock - Companion book to Super-size me.
Rainbow Six - Tom Clancy - Clancy book in the world of Jack Ryan dealing with spec ops and eco-terrorists.

I personally am obsessed with the books by R.A. Salvatore. The Forgotten Realms books he has written are just pretty awesome for me. I kinda stopped reading books when I came to college since I had less time and it was just easier to play video games but this series got me back into reading about two years ago and I haven't been disappointed with the series at all yet.

^This right here^ :D
I would also advice books like :
Conan series by Roberta E. Howarda and few others after his death
Sherlock Holmes series by Arthur Conan Doyle
Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski
Dragons of Argonath by Cristopher Rowley
And ofc
DiscWorld series by Sir Terry Pratchett
Those series are worth reading like very very much
Also for fans of something darker I would advice to go with
Enders Game series by Orson Scott Card

The Name of the Wind and A Wise Man's Fear,
both by Patrick Rothfuss.
Tigana, by Guy Gaveriel Kay is a fantastic amazeballs book. It's really emotionally drawing though.

great book!!! I think it was one of the very first full-length novels I've ever read.
One of my all-time favorites is 1984 by George Orwell. Can't go wrong with either of those, though.

"Samurai Shortstop" by Alan Gratz. It's better than it sounds.
