Terminal to Get Old Companions back?

I was bored and checking the official forums which I never do... found this:

 

You can (when it is fixed), use the terminal after Chapter 9 to summon the old companions back.

When (if) Nadia returns through the story remains to be seen, but I doubt it will be any time soon.

 

What terminal are they talking about??  Is that a way to get Kira right now?  Is this just something Bioware took out?

I thought there were different achievement type tasks to get most companions back.  

Qyzen requires killing certain animals on different planets or world bosses I think.  

Yuun required me to do some series of missions.  I think this one sets off other quests for other companions.

I got M1-4X because I was already above valor level 40

Its a terminal in your personal base on Odesson. Its in that small room where you turn in the quests when your base companions level up.

Woah!  I totally never noticed that terminal.  They didn't make it glow blue or anything.  Very interested.  So it seems you get an option to get them back right away, or wait for them to return in the story.  Neat... has anyone taken option 1?

Nope. I can wait. Having the companion via the terminal won't affect later. You'll just meet up with them in the story. It seems weird to do it for me, but I'd rather have the story happen and make sense. It's mostly for those that don't care enough.

I did it on my Sentinel.  He runs around with Kira now.

I did it on my commando for Elara.  I have used influence rep to get M1-4X up to 43, and Elara is about 13 now.  I choose to do it because If I am going to do a rep grind, I want to do it with a character I like and not redo it later.

Yuun missions on Zakuul (needed to unlock the other companions)

Talos Drellik missions on Yavin

Qyzen jagganath on Hoth or World Bosses

Lokin influence turn ins then Rakghoul event (need to complete Qyzen to unlock)

M1-4X/Major Pierce 20x PvP matches, lvl 40 valor

Xalek missions on Ilum

Nico make him a drink (don't forget the umbrella)

Then there are the 6 from the Star Fortress missions

For those who haven't unlocked all of them so far.  BTW, the initial Star Fortress quest I was able to take Kira with me as well as for unlocking the other companions.  I understand that the story chapters are the only things you can't use the terminal companions to complete.

 I think I'll wait and get them through the stories and missions too.

I'll do it story-wise on my main but other characters I'll probably get them back because they'll have higher influence to start with (right?)
