Wow, they sure posted that early. Cool update, I think...I always like seeing the website get improved. Plugin's loading a little slow but I'll forgive it since it's the first time it ran on this box. Once inside it's a sweet map!

Have to say I don't love it, I'm not sure what value it brings. Granted its nice and flashy but its just rehashing the planet and starship information we already have.

I believe, but don't have any specific lore to back it up atm, that the Hutts used to control more space than they do at the time of the Lucas Trilogies.

Even in the time of the Old Republic, the territory they have is significantly less than what they had in more ancient times, where the Hutts controlled a vast portion of the galaxy. It steadily shrinks up to Palpatine's era, where the Empire dominated the galaxy, and the Hutts lost nominal control over most planets, but maintained their criminal empires.

Yeah, I agree that it's not bringing anything new to the table, I just never liked the planet list, that came in no specific order and with little organization. This probably would've been a lot more exciting had it initially been launched this way.

Really it just gave us a better way to poke around the data that's already there, and it being "better" is debatable...but I still like it. I love maps in general. Knowing the terrain you're fighting over is extremely important in wartime.
