re: Guild Rank System, List of Current Officers

GUILD RANKING SYSTEM

Listed below are the ranks and positions of Pax Republica, as well as the Trainee rank, which is not technically considered part of the PR membership until a Trainee becomes a Peacekeeper.

Officer Positions
The following are the current Officer Positions of Pax Republica. To become an officer, you are generally asked to fill a position if the current officers think you'd be best to fill that position, or applications will be received. Anyone can hold any position no matter their rank, although we generally expect members to have been in the guild over three months before they can be an officer.

Being an officer in any guild is all about sacrificing your free time to do the dirty work to make the guild run smoothly. It should be noted that "positions" are different from "ranks". You fill a position as long as you can stay active and perform those duties. It is not a permanent placement, and the roles of officers are flexible. Should you become too busy in RL to offer your extra time, outside of the game, to be an officer, you are expected to understand this and step back down to regular membership. There should be no shame or dishonor in this. Officers need to be the most active, and helpful members that are ready to do the work needed to run the guild.

Ideally, the number of Officers will not exceed 20% of the guild.

Consul

Nwahs Nirom

The Consul is expected to be able to take over any position within the Guild should the necessity arise. Must be capable of leading a raid, or PVP group with proficiency and efficiency. He is required to uphold all articles of the Charter and to enforce punishment and hand out rewards where necessary. Though running a Democratic styled guild he has the final say in all matters which would seriously impact the community. One of the primary functions of the Consul is to keep the officers in check and ensuring the guild stays on track with the Charter and goals of the guild. Furthermore, he is expected to remain fair and unbiased when deciding on punishments and rewards, and to consult the officers when dealing with penalties of a 'lesser' nature [ie: something not directly threatening the integrity of the community].

Arbiter

Empiricus

Tiffs/Hugtastic

Iolo'Pax

Naaric

Nylos

Scubax

Morov

The Arbiter will be the main operations officers of Pax Republica, and the Consul's hands when he cannot be present. The Arbiters main duties will be running the recruitment program, executing and guiding the trainee process, being in-game leaders of PvE, PvP, and GSF, giving awards and decorations, administering punishments and strikes, and kicking/banning players. They will be conducting interviews, working with other guilds, handling members issues and complaints, and generally working to keep Pax Republica moving forward with it's main goals in sight.

Tech Officer - Rank of Veteran Officer

Travis Cook

Main Character: Gryffon

The Tech Officer is responsible for all technical issues related to keeping the guild up and running. They will be in charge of the treasury, both in game and through PayPal. They will be the point of contact for Pax Republica's Teamspeak and Guild Launch accounts. They will be in charge of trouble shooting technical issues of our forums or VOIP. Though all Pax members are encouraged to help out, all technical aspects of keeping Pax up and running falls on the Tech Officer.
Based on decision by the Pax officers, and the nature of the job of Tech Officer (maintaining website, etc.) the Tech Officer is currently not held to normal activity standards.

Veteran Officer

SwishiestBog

Waars

A Veteran Officer is a member who was an officer who has left the game of SWTOR, but desires to still help out with administrative tasks around the forums and website to the keep the guild running smoothly.  This may include trainee interviews, asking questions in applications, cleaning forums, etc.  Veteran Officers, like Veterans, do not have to meet in-game activity requirements, but they are expected to stay active on the forums.

Guild Ranks

Marshal

The Marshal is the epitome of what is expected of a Pax Republica member. They uphold the tenets of our charter in the highest degree, are constantly assisting new members, and are well respected in the community. They must also show respect for all members of Pax Republica regardless of rank, and will have demonstrated traits of excellent leadership potential. All Marshals are trained and experienced in leading groups and organizing events and will be the operation and PvP leaders. The rank itself can be used to recognize individuals who would otherwise have been officers but there were no positions available within the administration team, or the member declined to be a full officer but still wish to help the guild actively. This allows administration to delegate responsibility to those who have shown an interest in taking on a larger role in the community.

To ensure the truly selective nature of this rank, Marshal ideally should only be made up of the 5% most active, skilled, loyal, and helpful members of the guild that are not officers. Exceptions can be made for this with approval of the officers.

Their responsibilities include the same expectations as the Justicars, and are expected to actively assist administrators in duties that they seek assistance with, and to lead Operations and PvP with dedication, skill, and fairness.

Justicar

The rank of Justicar is awarded to a member who has has been in the guild for at least 3 months and has a clean service record, meaning that they must not have an active strike at the time of promotion. Members who are promoted to this position will have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the community and its goals, have been recognized multiple times by others for generous deeds or efforts, and be viewed by administration as individuals who show promise for leadership candidacy and/or operation and PvP command. This rank will be harder to attain than the Legionnaire and will thus have fewer members, allowing administration to focus efforts on training and preparing a smaller group to take up the responsibilities of the Marshal should they be deemed fit.  Overall Justicars are more active in-game and/or on the forums than Legionnaires and Peacekeepers. Justicars also invite members and alts into the guild, and are expected to set the Member Note correctly.

Justicars should make up roughly the top 20% of the guild that are not officers or Marshals.

Their responsibilities include the same expectations as the Legionnaire, and come with added responsibilities. They will be called upon to act as leaders in the field of battle when deemed necessary by administration or a Marshal, to help keep tabs on the roster and watch out for members who are nearing inactivity, to review administrative proceedings when asked and provide input, and to be willing to help out other members when able.

Must have earned the Legionnaire promotion to be eligible for advancement.

Legionnaire

The Legionnaire rank is awarded to a member who has been in the guild for at least 3 months and has proven to be member of the guild that contributes above average and has displayed an exemplary service record – meaning that they have no active strikes against them. They serve as role-models to the Peacekeepers. This position is used to recognize continued services to the members of the guild while also allowing some heightened responsibility.

Their responsibilities include the same expectations as the Peacekeeper with the added privilege of having to be highly active in Teamspeak to serve as Teamspeak Moderators. They will assist Administrators with maintaining the peaceful and fun atmosphere within our Teamspeak server. They have the options to mute/kick/ban people from Teamspeak, but they are using those privileges only as a last resort if someone is unable to behave or to remove unwanted guests.

Peacekeeper

The rank of Peacekeeper is awarded to any person who has successfully undergone the Trial Process and is now a full member of the guild. They are considered full and regular members and play a vital role in the survival of this community. Through good deeds, constant activity, quality of personality and character, and skilled gaming the Peacekeeper represents the heart of Pax Republica and should at no time be treated inferior to any other rank. They "keep the Peace" of the guild; they should become active in the Trials process for Trainees and ensure that only players that meet the tenants of our Charter enter our guild.

Their responsibilities include adherence to the Charter, welcoming visitors in Teamspeak and being courteous to other players in game, and providing input on ideas and concepts when prompted by administration.

Friend/Family Member of the Guild

This is a special rank reserved for people who are very close friends of a member of the guild, or a family member of the guild, but they won't be playing the game regularly enough to meet our normal activity requirements.  However, we want them to play with us, and have a safe home in SWTOR land and be in our guild list!  These people will have no real requirements for activity, but can be purged after 90 days or a time that is considered excessive.    It should also be noted that a close friend or family member of the guild that is referred to the guild and wants to be a full member can skip the Trials process and enter in as a Peacekeeper.

Trainee

The Trainee is a recent applicant who is undergoing their Trial Period for the mutual goal of determining if they like our community enough to join it and for us to determine if we believe they fit in with our community.

Veteran

Veterans are former players of SWTOR that still want to stay in touch with the community. To be a Veteran, you must leave the guild and SWTOR on good terms, and have at least three months of membership in Pax Republica, or less in special circumstances. Should a player leave for another guild, on good terms, they can request an Emissary rank to visit our forums. As a Veteran, you retain full access to the forums and Teamspeak. You can still keep a few characters in guild with Veteran Rank as long as you can log on the forums at least once every 90 days. This in-game rank would have the same guildbank, chat, etc. permissions as a Trainee.  The idea is that you'll stop in every few months to say hi, see how the guild is doing, keep up with our Off-topic forums, etc.

Emissary

►
Emissaries are players who have left the guild on good terms and have joined another guild, and wish to stay active on our forums and stay in touch.  They represent their guild on our forums.  Or, Emissaries are representatives of other guilds looking to see all of our forums, and we've given them permissions.  Like Veterans, Emissaries must stay active on the forums every 90 days.
